All the negative reviews almost made me not try this. But i did anyway. And it works great for PLEX media Center.

For Plex.
Enter local ip of the pc running plex media center. For the Port: enter 3000 Leave username an pass blank..
Hit test connection button. Done.
Now you have a remote.

Oh and the small ad at bottom is not covering up any buttons. And not in the way at all. Iphone 3gs. I didnt use earlier versions that may have.
